Colby Smith • July 21, 2023

You’ve got to check out this new hangout, Houston. The Better Generation is PJ Tucker’s brick-and-mortar sneaker boutique comprised of 13 shipping containers, a half-basketball court, and a space-themed bar repurposed from an old bus.

Founded by former Rockets player, PJ Tucker, The Better Generation began as an online sneaker distributor where sneakerheads could score kicks at reasonable prices. This past November, The Better Generation debuted its brick and mortar at 4112 Washington Ave in Houston.

“The Better Generation x PJ Tucker Brick & Mortar is here to give the Houston community an experience they have never seen before” the group wrote in an Instagram post.

“Here at TBG we truly believe in being unique and it shows down to the last details in our online and in store experiences. We will continue to grow and expand our online community because we wouldn’t be here without y’all. Houston we are here for you, we want to be y’all’s ride or die. Come in, hang out, have a good time, we are here for you.”

As stated, The Better Generation x PJ Tucker brick-and-mortar is comprised of 13 shipping containers. Furthermore, the site features a half basketball court, yard games, and is the home of SkyLab, a bar made of a repurposed bus with a Space City theme.

Here, visitors can enjoy a galactic variety of space-themed libations. Menu features include out-of-this-world cocktails like Moon Boots, Astro Plane, Cosmo Knot, Alien, and more. Sky Lab also offers shots such as Alien Drip (Skyy Watermelon, Pnotig, Peach Schnapps, and Sprit), Mind Eraser (Coffee Liquor, vodka, and Sprit), and Blue Hawaiian (Coconut Rum, Peach Schnapps, blue C, and Sprite).

The Better Generation also regularly hosts live events and performances, including comedy and trivia nights. The venue is open from 11 am – 7 pm Tuesday through Saturday; 12 pm – 6 pm on Sundays; and is closed on Mondays.
